Our Gutter Protection System

Clogged gutters can be very problematic. When a gutter clogs water only has two places to go. The least likely over the front of the gutter or the most likely over the backside of the gutter and behind your fascia, eaves and over hangs causing many costly problems! You can try to tackle the dangerous and nasty job of cleaning them out 5-6 times per year or you can let Rain Go install a product that really works and forget about it! There are 3 types of systems available, but which one works?

Screens: Screens keep out a small amount of debris. Most gets caught in the mesh of the screen which defeats the whole purpose of why you got them in the 1st place!

Gutter filters: These types of leaf protection systems is better than option 1 but still a poor choice. As you know filters clog, and have to be replaced no matter if its an HVAC filter, oil filter or gutter filter! They are known as "costly high tech screens". Don't allow yourself to be sold on an inferior costly product that won't work!

Curved edge: These by far have been the better choice for leaf protection systems for many, many years! These work off of capillary action also know as surface tension. Water runs along a curved edge into the gutter while debris drop directly to the ground. Although this is the better of the 3, there are a few things you much watch out for. Don't buy anything that nails to your roof! This voids your shingle warranty! Beware of the cheap copy cat systems! Stay away from the one piece systems! Some of these range from $16-20 a foot installed! What happens if a tree limb falls on on a piece of it? You have to replace the whole expensive piece!

Rain-Go Gutter Protection: We can obtain any product available today. There is only one we have found that is worth offering to our customers. The product of choice for Rain-Go is the RAINTRAPTM gutter protection system! RAINTRAPTM is a product unlike any other! It features a nose over system which guarantees water flows into the gutter and debris fall to the ground, a water siphoning system which pulls only water into the gutter and will not void your shingle warranty! Rain-Go can install the RAINTRAPTM gutter protection system on new or existing gutters and unlike the one piece systems (gutter and leaf guard in one) in the event that a tree limb falls and damages a piece of RAINTRAPTM, that will be all that will need to be replaced! Finally a product that really works and one that you won't need a second mortgage to pay for it!

Why RAINTRAPTM is the better trap!

The goal of all gutter protection systems is simple: catch the water while expelling the leaves, pine needles, maple seeds and other debris. Sounds simple, but in real life it is easier said than done. Most designs on the market have both good and then "not so good" aspects. For example, many of the large radius solid covers are very unsightly because they extend up the roof to the second row of shingles. Also when a large volume of water is running around the curved nose, the trash has a tendency to follow the water into the gutter. On the other hand, covers with round, diamond or rectangle drain holes in the top often have a problem with the trash sticking in the drain holes. Covers that lay flat down on the gutter hold the trash in the recessed area they create. There is a solution: RAINTRAPTM Gutter Protection.

WATER SIPHON SLOTS (a unique patent pending design.)The primary leading radius of each water siphon slot (A) uses the surface tension of the water coming off the roof to draw the water directly into the gutter. raintrap_exampleThe actual opening (B) in each water siphon slot is less than 1/8" wide by 3/4" long. The opening is small enough to keep any significant debris out of the gutter while allowing the water into the gutter. The secondary edge of the water siphon slots (C) is slightly radiused which keeps the debris from catching in the slots.

NOSE OVER REVERSE CURVE In the unusual occurrences when extremely heavy rainfall produces too much water for the water siphon slots to handle, the little remaining water goes around the radius curved nose similar to other designs and then enters the gutter. NOTE: When large volumes of water go around the nose (D) of any cover the trash has a tendency to follow the water into the gutter. Since, with RAINTRAPTM, most of the water goes through the water siphon slots very little water goes around the nose, thus diminishing the chance that any debris can follow the water around the nose and into the gutter. RAINTRAPTM Nose Over extends beyond the edge of the gutter allowing the debris to fall directly to the ground.

SELF ALIGNING CLIPS Also notice RAINTRAP'S special patent pending self aligning double leg clips (E). They are secured to the top of the gutter with one zip screw. They secure the cover without the use of any fasteners into the roof. They also allow the cover to fit any roof pitch from flat to 12/12 pitch. In the event of damage or reroofs, RAINTRAPTM Nose Over can be easily removed and replaced without any tools.

LOW PROFILE DESIGN In addition to the above, the low profile of RAINTRAPTM Nose Over is just 1 3/s" higher than the gutter, making it adaptable to both existing and new construction gutters, plus the low profile of RAINTRAPTM is very neat in appearance.

SMALL HORIZONTAL GAP The horizontal gap (F) between the cover and the gutter is only approximately 1/4" inches, keeping the debris and the smallest birds and rodents out while allowing the heaviest rains into the gutter.
